Meet the Team
Erik Vitto, Linewide Coordinator from the SSTOM project!

Erik is a highly motivated Linewide Coordinator, and he’s excited to be contributing to Australia’s biggest public transport project.
“I have been working on Webuild projects for three years now. It all started with an internship when I was in school in Saudi Arabia. Soon after, an opportunity opened up in Perth on the Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL) Project as a Quality Officer. Once the project finished, I was asked to join the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport's Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) Project as a Linewide Coordinator.
In his current role, Erik serves as the interface between all departments, ensuring alignment with the program and addressing any issues that arise.
“What I like most about working on the SSTOM project is the hard-working morale and drive to bring the job to completion. I also am inspired by the capabilities of the people in our teams to be creative, it makes me want to contribute as much as I can to help the team.”
For Erik, the project holds a special personal significance as well.
“In addition, I get to work with my father on this project which is something really enriching. Working with him allows me to gain insight into his perspective and creativity. This in-turn broadens my abilities and enhances my potential to strive for greater opportunities and improvements.
“I chose to work in the construction industry because I was fascinated by how there is always a solution and new perspective to projects, and I get to work with lots of different people across different departments. This provides me with a great opportunity to expand my capabilities as a team member.
“I hope to continue working on more projects around the world with Webuild and expanding my knowledge to work in other departments too. I am very passionate about learning and developing, so that as the construction industry continues to grow and improve, I can too. Diversity is also something very important to me - there are a lot of different cultures to explore, and they all provide different ways to look at projects to see a different perspective.
Something that I have learned in my journey so far is to speak up and share my thoughts – your way of thinking matters, and it can make a positive impact on a decision or the development of the activities and works ahead. It shows that you are interested and want to contribute ideas.
To anyone who is thinking about joining the industry or the business, I would say do it – it’s the best opportunity that you can have, for multiple ways to expand your knowledge.”
