Jess’s passion for sustainability in construction drives her commitment to making a lasting positive impact on the nation's infrastructure. 

“I am the Sustainability Lead on the North East Link Project. My role consists of making sure that we have sustainability embedded in all parts of the project and making sure that we meet the needs of the project and the Victorian community. 

“What I enjoy the most about the engineering and construction industry is the diversity, not just the people, but also every day is different. There's so much interesting stuff happening all the time on the sites, in the office, everywhere. It's a great industry to be in. It's dynamic, it's always moving, and there's a lot of work to be done. 

“What excites me about sustainability and construction is getting to make a tangible difference in the Victorian Australian community. These projects are large scale, so what we do really has a big impact on the environment and the community, and we get to live a lasting legacy and it's just an amazing experience day in, day out. 

“If you are passionate about sustainability, construction is the place to be. You get to touch so many different areas of sustainability. It's always changing, it's always different, and it's just an amazing spot to make a tangible change.”
