Nour began her career with Webuild in 2022 when she joined the Spark North East Link Joint Venture team. Nour joined the team having previously worked as a Reporting Officer at the United Nations Development Programme Palestine (UNDPP) for 5 years, where she was introduced to the construction industry, and an accountant in UAE and Australia.

NEL is a unique project, and I am working with very highly skilled people. The challenges and complexities it offers allows me to be creative and to achieve more.

On the NEL project, my role involves managing contracts, verifying invoices against the rates in the contract, prepare claims, and managing purchase orders under the contracts/framework agreements.

Joining the procurement and commercial team for Spark on the NEL project has given me the opportunity to add to my skills and expertise and learn more about managing contracts, which is something I am very interested in.

Working in the construction industry gives me a lot of job satisfaction as it calls for a lot of creativity and problem-solving skills - in addition to that, I like dealing with the wide variety of stakeholders that we do, internally and externally. In the construction industry there is always something new to learn as no two projects are the same and I need to stay up to date with changes to remain competitive. It’s very rewarding field.

Working for Webuild aligns perfectly with my career aspirations and personal interests. I am passionate about the industry and the company’s values and culture. Career progression within the business is very rewarding, the variety of skills I can learn along with the support I receive from mangers will allow me to grow.  

When it comes to business initiatives outside my day-to-day role, I am passionate about supporting other women in the industry. Hand in hand we all can grow together.

About the North East Link Project 

Webuild, as part of the Spark Consortium is delivering the North East Link Primary Package in Melbourne. The project scope includes the design and construction of twin three-lane tunnels approximately 6.5 kilometres long, and other related works. Once complete, it will be the longest road tunnel in Victoria, providing an essential link in the city’s freeway network, reducing congestion and travel times for tens of thousands of motorists. The project will enable a more sustainable future by taking 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reducing trave times by up to 35 minutes for commuters. The consortium will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the freeway for 25 years after completion of the work.
