Our experience in Australia dates back to the 1970s when we built the , better known today as the City Loop. This project cemented Webuild’s position as a key player in the major infrastructure market in Australia and unlocked the potential for the business to extend its operations further across the nation.
Today, we are delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia, including the iconic , one of the largest renewable energy projects in the world; in Melbourne, the largest private-public partnership (PPP) in the country, and the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance .

Webuild and Clough
In 2023, Webuild acquired Clough, an Australian-founded engineering and construction company. Together we are stronger, and we are delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in Australia, united in our purpose to be a partner for a sustainable future.
With Clough, we are delivering the iconic , as part of Future Generation Joint Venture in New South Wales, and additionally in the state, we are delivering Tallawarra Stage B Power Station. We are also delivering a number of projects in Western Australia, including the Ceres Urea Plant, which will be the biggest urea plant in Australia, the Woodman Point Water Treatment Plant, and Waitsia Gas Project Stage 2, as well as the Darwin Shiplift Project in Darwin, and the Lombrum Naval Base in Papua New Guinea.
